Rebekah Vardy breaks down in tears first TV interview reacting to Wagatha trial verdict

In her first interview since the Wagatha Christie court case, Rebekah Vardy has broken down in tears, insisting that she "did not do it".

The seven day trial ended just last week, with Mrs Justice Steyn ruling in favour of Coleen Rooney. It came after a two-and-a-half year feud that started when Coleen, 36 accused the 40-year-old of leaking "false stories" about her private life to the press.

Coleen carried out what she called a "sting operation" on Instagram, reports the Mirror. She planted fake stories on her Instagram, one of which reportedly featured her travelling to Mexico for a "gender selection" procedure, another in which Coleen said that she was planning to return to TV.

Following this Coleen alleged that Rebekah was the leak, which caused Vardy to launch the legal trial. In a written decision published on Friday, the judge said that the case was dismissed adding that “significant parts of her [Rebekah Vardy's] evidence were not credible.”

Rebekah Vardy will now appear in her first interview since the ruling on TalkTV at 7pm tomorrow, with her continuing to vehemently deny Coleen's accusations.

In the past she admitted in a witness statement that her agent Caroline Watt could have leaked the stories in a dramatic U-turn.

Coleen defended the claim in court on the basis her post was “substantially true”.

Speaking to journalist Kate McCann in a teaser clip ahead of the interview, Rebekah says: "Oh come on, you can't ask me that."

She continues: "I will say that 'til I'm blue in the face. I did not do it!"

In response to another question, Rebekah says: "I feel let down by a lot of people, a lot of things. But most importantly I feel let down by the legal system."

She's later seen breaking down in tears as she sobs: "I'm going to cry!"

Responding to the verdict, Coleen had said she was pleased with the judgement and bears no ill will to Rebekah, adding: “It was not a case I ever sought or wanted."

Turning to her viral Instagram post which sparked the saga, Coleen said: "Today’s judgment makes clear that I was right in what I said in my posts of October 2019."

In how own statement, Rebekah said she was "extremely sad and disappointed" by the decision, and she did not accept it nor believe it "was just".
