Rebeca Tavares lends support to LFC fans after Champions League trauma

Rebeca Tavares has sent a message of support to Liverpool FC fans impacted by the distressing events at the Champions League final.

Reds' supporters were caught up in sickening crushes and subjected to tear gas attacks from the French police outside the Stade de France on Saturday. Liverpool FC has announced it is working with a number of mental health organisations to provide the necessary support to people impacted by the traumatic events in Paris.

The club has pledged financial assistance for mental health organisations already high in demand to ensure expert help is available. A statement said: "The scenes witnessed in and around Stade de France, before and after kick-off, on Saturday night will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons.

"Working with LFC Foundation, who collaborate with professional mental health services on a daily basis, and discussing with Spirit of Shankly and other fan groups, the club has compiled a list of organisations supporters can turn to right now."

Rebeca has become a vocal Liverpool FC supporter on social media since her husband, Fabinho, joined Jurgen Klopp's side in 2018. She has today taken to Twitter to applaud the initiative, which will offer an important service to fans.

A landing page has been set up on the LFC foundation website with full information on the scheme. The club have also requested a formal and transparent investigation into the issues supporters faced at the Champions League final.

LFC has asked fans to complete a feedback form to support the investigation into the operational management of the event. Supporters have until June 5 to fill in the form, which can be accessed here.

The club identified the following mental health organisations and urged supporters to get in touch if they need support:
