The reason for the delay in confirmation of Kyogo Furuhashi's move to Rennes has been revealed.
The striker touched down in France last Thursday to complete the move although four days later, nothing has been made official.
That is because, according to French media outlet 'ouest france', Celtic want to coincide the officialisation of Furuhashi's departure with the announcement of Jota's return to the club.

The Portuguese winger is in Glasgow to seal a move back to the Scottish Premiership champions. Similarly to the Furuhashi deal, though, nothing has been confirmed yet.
It looks like both announcements will be made in tandem, with the Japanese frontman going one way and Jota the other.
The 25-year-old could make his second Celtic debut this Sunday versus Motherwell, with 'ouest france' saying Furuhashi is set to play for Rennes against Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
The news comes after the club's manager, Jorge Sampaoli, admitted he ideally would have liked the 30-year-old to have turned out in his side's defeat to Monaco at the weekend.
It wasn't to be, however, and Furuhashi must wait to officially join Rennes until Celtic confirm Jota's emotional return.
