Reason Clement will be forced into at least two Rangers vs Spurs changes

Philippe Clement has started to find some consistency in his Rangers team selection.

The Ibrox boss made just one change to his starting line-up from the thumping 6-0 win over Kilmarnock in midweek to the comfortable victory against Ross County.

The Belgian appears to be more settled in his squad selection with Rangers finding their form in recent outings ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

Ange Postecoglou's Premier League side take on Rangers at Ibrox in the Europa League.

However, Clement will be heading into the match knowing he will need to make at least two changes to his Rangers side due to squad registration rules.

Rangers submitted a squad list for the league phase of the competition a few months ago with two notable players not included and therefore ineligible.

Ianis Hagi and Danilo are not in the registered squad for the Europa League so will not be available for Clement despite having come into the first-team fold in recent months.

Hagi had been sidelined for Rangers due to a contract standoff with the player involved in action for the B team while out of the first-team picture.

However, the Romanian internationalist has come back into contention for Rangers after the matter was resolved with Hagi now regularly featuring for the Ibrox club.

Danilo had missed out on the Europa League squad as a result of being injured. The Brazilian striker is now back in action but Rangers cannot adjust their squad game-by-game for the Europa League.

Cyriel Dessers appears the obvious contender to replace Danilo, unless Clement opts for a system swap to try and nullify Spurs, while Mohamed Diomande or Nedim Bajrami could replace Hagi.
