People were startled by the sound of loud fireworks heard across Merseyside last night.
The fireworks were heard in areas including Bootle, Walton and Crosby until past 10.30pm on Monday (October 24), as people questioned why they were being let off ten days before bonfire night.
Residents took to Facebook to complain about the fireworks and the impact it was having on their pets. One resident said their "dogs are an absolute mess" after being scared by the bangs, while another said they were still hearing the loud bangs until past 10.30 pm.

People guessed the reason for the fireworks was a celebration of something because of the sheer number of people who had heard them. Last night (Monday) was the day to celebrate and observe Diwali for 2022.
Diwali is held on the 15th day of the month of Kartika in the Hindu calendar and celebrates the festival of lights. Diwali is a Hindu festival which is associated with the goddess of prosperity and marks the beginning of the financial year in India.
