Ex-Leeds United 'keeper Paul Robinson has been unable to hide his disappointment that his former club did not make a move for Sean Dyche to become their new manager before he took the Everton job.
The Blues boss will take charge of his third match tomorrow, when Everton host currently manager-less Leeds at Goodison Park. The Toffees are currently stuck in the relegation zone, one point behind their Yorkshire visitors, but a home victory for Dyche would result in Everton leap-frogging their opponents, putting them in the drop-zone instead as a consequence.
Leeds have been without a manager since Jesse Marsch was sacked on February 6, with interim boss Michael Skubala continuing to look after first team affairs until a suitable replacement can be put in place. But former England international Robinson is at a loss to understand why the Peacocks did not make move for Dyche when they had the opportunity.

Speaking to BetFred, Robinson said: “I can’t understand what’s going on at Leeds, I really can’t. They had Jesse Marsch in there and I was one of his biggest critics and I could never warm to him and the way that he had Leeds playing, but the club heavily backed him in the transfer market with his fellow countrymen and some of his ex-players.
"They backed him in two transfer markets heavily and then two days after the window closed they sacked him with seemingly no contingency plan. The week before the window closes, Everton sack their manager, employ Sean Dyche and don’t bring in any new players. However, I’d prefer Everton’s situation to Leeds’.
“I’d have preferred them to have got none of the players they got in the transfer window and have Sean Dyche instead. Everton have a manager in there that can keep them in the league and Leeds United have really missed a trick. You don’t let one of your relegation rivals steal a march on you by employing a manager that could have potentially kept you in the Premier League. I believe one of Nottingham Forest, Everton and Leeds are going to go down with Bournemouth and Southampton."
Dyche made the perfect start to his Everton managerial tenure by beating title-chasing Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park, but hopes of a swift escape from the relegation zone were given a reality check at Anfield on Monday evening when Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win over the Blues in the Merseyside Derby.
Leeds have lost three of their last six matches and drawn the other three.
