Liverpool have been told by former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor that they need to sign a new striker this summer.
The Reds currently have an abundance of options at their disposal in the forward areas. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are the established trio, while Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz are emerging as starting contenders.
Salah, Mane and Firmino are all currently out of contract at the end of next season, while Jota and Diaz have long-term futures at Anfield. Given the contract situation of one of the players in particular, Agbonlahor feels a new signing is needed.

Agbonlahor says that Liverpool need to keep four of the five attacking players at the club, but thinks that Firmino’s time could be coming to an end. The former Villa striker says that, with Divock Origi set to leave this summer, a new striker is needed this summer.
“If they can keep that front four together, Salah, Mane, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, then they are going to be there or thereabouts next season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider .
“Still, I would bring in a striker to add into the mix with Origi going and Firmino out of form.
“They could add a top striker, that would really help them. That front four is really dangerous.”
