Real Sociedad say goodbye to Alexander Isak as Eddie Howe talks up possible Callum Wilson partnership

Eddie Howe has hinted he is prepared to unveil Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson as a front two in the Premier League.

The Newcastle United head coach has bags of options in the final third and it will be interesting to see if he changes from his tried and trusted 4-3-3 formation. Allan Saint-Maximin, Jacob Murphy, Ryan Fraser and Miguel Almiron are all vying for wider positions.

When asked if they would be a prolific pairing Howe told Radio Newcastle: "I see them playing together. "I see them as different players but when the transfer is complete I think that them playing together is something I definitely envisage.

"Alex is a very different player to Callum and vice versa but they both have unique strengths."

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil confirms he's said "goodbye" to Alexander Isak: "I thank Isak for everything he has given us these three years. He is a very good player.

"But at Real we have done better with those around him. "The team has responded without him and I'm calm."
