Rylan Clark announced he is stepping down from his role as host of Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two on Tuesday and fans believe they've worked out the real reason for his departure.
Announcing the news, Rylan shared on Twitter: "After four fantastic years it's time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two. I've had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can't thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.
"I've been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me. The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me. Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart...and my dancing feet."
Before joining the Strictly family, Rylan rose to fame on X Factor and later fronted Big Brother's Bit on the Side before the series was axed alongside the beloved reality show in 2018.
Last year, ITV sparked a frenzy when it announced it would be bringing the iconic show this year and with the series expected to air in autumn, many fans suspect Rylan's latest news could be he's ready to return to Big Brother.
One fan suggested: "Leaving for @bbuk sideshow perhaps? Timings would align #bbuk."
"It’s giving 'I’m hosting @bbuk' tbh," a second wrote and another agreed: "Was just thinking the same."
However, Rylan appeared to deny he would be hosted Big Brother when it returns as he replied to another fan questioning the timing of his departure.
One fan remarked: "Not that I am jumping to conclusions or anything but I AM JUMPING... It Takes Two was always going to clash...with Big Brother?" Rylan replied: "Ur jumping sadly x."
Other fans of the presenter suggested Rylan was now free to take to the dance floor himself after quitting the Strictly spin-off show.
"Only silver lining from this announcement would be confirmation that you’re a contestant," one fan commented and another tweeted: "Maybe we'll see you on the DANCE FLOOR?! You've the moves!"
A third added: "Oh this is so sad, but does it mean we’ll get to see him strutting his stuff on #StrictlyComeDancing now."
One Rylan's exit, Kate Phillips, director of BBC Unscripted said: “On behalf of BBC Two, BBC Daytime, and Strictly fans everywhere, I want to thank Rylan for entertaining audiences so brilliantly for the past four years on Strictly It Takes Two.
“Rylan’s infectious personality, his stand-out sass and his genuine love for all the glitz and glamour of the ballroom, has been a big part of It Takes Two’s continued success. Rylan will always be part of the Strictly family of course, but I know he‘ll be hugely missed by all the Strictly It Takes Two viewers, Janette and everyone else who works on the show.”
