Real Madrid vs Barcelona LIVE!
Barcelona are celebrating lifting the Spanish Super Cup for a record-extending 15th time following another ruthless dismantling of Real Madrid in El Clasico. The Blaugrana fought back from Kylian Mbappe’s early goal against the run of play to demolish their fiercest rivals for the second time this season in Sunday night’s dramatic final to the four-team annual tournament in Saudi Arabia, winning a trophy under Hansi Flick for the first time.
Lamine Yamal levelled with a terrific effort at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, with Robert Lewandowski adding a second for Barca from the penalty spot after Eduardo Camavinga had fouled Gavi. Raphinha added a quick-fire third with a header and Flick’s side went in 4-1 up at half-time after Alejandro Balde finished off a devastating counter-attack following 10 minutes of stoppage time.
Rodrygo hit the post after the break for Madrid, who then conceded another just seconds later as Raphinha notched his second on break. Rodrygo did then score a free-kick after Wojciech Szczesny had been sent off for a foul on Mbappe, but Los Blancos could not produce a comeback as they relinquished the Supercopa de Espana. Then it’s wide from Rodrygo.
Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona
20:58 , George Flood90 mins: EIGHT minutes of stoppage time, following nine in the first half.
I thought it might be more.
Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona
20:57 , George Flood89 mins: Raphinha is losing his mind about something over on the Barca bench and is shown a yellow card. He needs to calm down here.
Was it the challenge by Ceballos on Pedri?
The spicy challenges have not subsided.
Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona
20:55 , George Flood88 mins: After Araujo’s foul on Mbappe, Rodrygo goes for goal from a free-kick again from a tough angle... and it’s not far wide of the back post!
Surely too late for Madrid now, but, like in the first half, there is going to be a huge whack of stoppage time here.

Fran Garcia on for Mendy too.
Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona
20:41 , George Flood70 mins: Into the final 20 minutes in Jeddah and Real Madrid have failed to further capitalise on that Szczesny sending off.
Still a long way back for Los Blancos, despite their numerical advantage.
A rare lull in what has otherwise been the most dramatic of derbies.
Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona
20:3867 mins: Vinicus Jr - already on a yellow - gets away with a very naughty challenge.
That’s two potential red cards now that Madrid could have had.
But Barca ‘keeper Szczesny is the only man to receive his marching orders so far.
Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona
20:32 , George Flood65 mins: Luka Modric, who missed Thursday’s semi-final win over Real Mallorca through illness, is on now.

This isn’t over yet...

Real Madrid 1-5 Barcelona
20:23 , George Flood55 mins: Hang on just a moment!
The referee is being sent to consult the monitor again...
Real Madrid 1-5 Barcelona
20:22 , George Flood54 mins: Real Madrid are furious after Mbappe bursts through and appears to be brought down by Szczesny.
That was outside the box and would have been a red if it had been given.
I think Mbappe and Vinicius Jr have both been booked for their protests.
Real Madrid 1-5 Barcelona
20:2152 mins: Lucas Vazquez has had a very tough game as a makeshift right-back for Real Madrid and is now off.
Raul Asencio comes on. Rudiger into the book for bringing down Yamal.
GOAL! Real Madrid 1-5 Barcelona | Raphinha 48'
20:16 , George Flood48 mins: Barcelona go straight down the other end after that Rodrygo miss and make it five!

Raphinha has his second, checking back inside the box before picking out the bottom corner with a low effort.
Another devastating counter-attack from ruthless Barcelona.
Real Madrid 1-4 Barcelona
20:15 , George Flood48 mins: Woodwork!
Rodrygo has all the time in the world following Vinicius Jr’s cross to connect with a right-footed volley that crashes onto the top of the post.
He has his head in his shirt. That should have been 4-2.
Real Madrid 1-4 Barcelona
20:12 , George FloodBack underway in Jeddah!
Can Real Madrid mount some sort of response here, or is the Spanish Super Cup heading back to the Camp Nou?
Real Madrid 1-4 Barcelona
20:11One change coming at half-time from Ancelotti.
Camavinga is somewhat wisely being taken off.
Dani Ceballos coming on.
Real Madrid 1-4 Barcelona
20:00Half-time
And breathe!
A ridiculous first half in El Clasico, with Real Madrid taking an early lead against the run of play through Mbappe before Barcelona hit back thanks to Lamine Yamal’s brilliance.
Then a penalty from Lewandowski - awarded after Camavinga’s silly challenge on Gavi - and quick-fire follow-up from Raphinha had Barca in dreamland, with Balde then putting the finishing touches on a devastating counter to make it 4-1 at the interval.
Could have been worse for Madrid too without Courtois’ saves, while they should be down to 10 men after Camavinga got away lightly with that pull on Yamal.
You can bet there will be more goals in this one.
GOAL! Real Madrid 1-4 Barcelona | Alejandro Balde 55'
19:5555 mins: Would you believe it!
Absolutely incredible stuff as Madrid totally botch a short corner in the 10th minute of first-half stoppage time and Balde - slipped in by Raphinha - finishes off a ruthless Barca counter-attack initially led by Yamal.
Mighty Real Madrid have shipped four goals in El Clasico for the second time this season - this time all in the first half.
Unbelievable drama in Jeddah.
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:54 , George Flood54 mins: Madrid swing a free-kick into the Barca box from wide on the right, but Kounde defends it well.
Still we play on in this marathon first half. Madrid with a last-gasp corner...
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:52 , George Flood52 mins: Barcelona are not content with their two-goal lead in Jeddah as Balde’s driven effort from the angle is tipped over by Courtois.
Rudiger also went down holding his face after a collision with Gavi.
Never a dull moment in the Clasico...
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:50 , George Flood49 mins: All a bit chaotic in the Barca box before half-time, Mbappe’s header almost turned in from close range by Rodrygo.
Eventually they clear their lines.
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:47 , George Flood46 mins: Just the NINE minutes of injury time signalled at the end of an enthralling first half.
There have been some stoppages sure, but that feels very excessive indeed.
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:47 , George Flood45 mins: How is that not a red?!
Camavinga - already on a yellow card after giving away that earlier penalty on Gavi - blatantly pulls back Yamal.
The free-kick is given but no second booking.
The French midfielder can count himself very, very lucky to still be on the pitch.
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:45 , George Flood43 mins: He’s been in the wars in this first half but again Lewandowski is back on his feet and continues.
The Polish striker was a key figure in the demolition of Madrid at the Bernabeu back in October too, scoring twice in three second-half minutes.
Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
19:4441 mins: Goalscorers Lewandowski, Raphinha and Yamal continue to cause Real Madrid all sorts of problems.
Lewandowski steers a header over the crossbar from Raphinha’s cross.
He stays down after a strong challenge from Rudiger.
GOAL! Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona | Raphinha 39'
19:39 , George Flood39 mins: Two in a matter of minutes for Barca!
It’s an utterly incredible cross from Kounde and Raphinha guides a peach of a header past Courtois.
This has all gone very, very wrong for Madrid.
What a half!
GOAL! Real Madrid 1-2 Barcelona | Robert Lewandowski 36'
19:37 , George Flood36 mins: A brilliant penalty from Lewandowski as he hammers it into the bottom corner.
Courtois guessed right but had no chance.
Barcelona have turned this around before half-time!
Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona
19:3534 mins: The referee has been sent to the pitchside monitor...
PENALTY TO BARCELONA!
Camavinga booked too.
Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona
19:34 , George Flood32 mins: A good spell of possession this for Barca and Gavi now goes down in the box after trying to connect with a deflected cross from the right.
They want a penalty for that challenge by Camavinga but play continues.
The pressure is maintained and Courtois belts the ball away after a risky pass back from Tchouameni.
VAR will look at this when the ball goes out. It looked like a penalty...
Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona
19:31 , George Flood29 mins: Camavinga is well off target with the strike after Vinicius Jr tries to bring himself into the game with a run to the byline.
Now Lewandowski is down after a knock to the knee from Camavinga.
He’ll be okay to continue though.
Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona
19:28 , George Flood26 mins: A nervy moment for Vazquez as he nearly plays Courtois into all sorts of trouble.
A blow for Barcelona now as Inigo Martinez is down and won’t be able to continue.
Ronald Araujo - who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Camp Nou this month - is coming on.
Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona
19:2624 mins: Real Madrid look to quickly retake the lead, showing their set-piece threat as Szczesny saves Tchouameni’s header.
Another couple of corners come into the Barca box, with a spectacular overhead kick blocked.
GOAL! Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona | Lamine Yamal 22'
19:21 , George Flood22 mins: A brilliant equaliser from the young superstar!
He is set away by a superb flicked pass from Lewandowski, cutting inside into the box and firing low across his body, into the bottom corner with Courtois beaten.
Absolutely sensational and the least that Barcelona deserve.
Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
19:21 , George Flood20 mins: The Barca pressure continues as Rudiger sees away their latest corner.
A ball forward is then overhit and sails wide for a goal kick for Courtois.
Madrid still have that lead, but Barca have been the better side so far.
Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
19:19 , George Flood18 mins: Lewandowski has an effort deflected wide before Casado thunders well off target after a poor Barca corner from the left.
Huge cheers as Mbappe re-enters the fray with that ankle strapped up.
Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
19:18 , George Flood17 mins: Mbappe doesn’t look particularly happy as he goes off for more treatment.
You’d think he would be fine to continue, though.
Tempers beginning to flare a little already in this Clasico showdown...
Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
19:16 , George Flood15 mins: Mbappe glides through two Barcelona defenders but then stays down after a coming together with Kounde.
I think he’s got a little wound around the ankle that will need attending to.
Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
19:16 , George Flood13 mins: Barcelona are having a lot of early possession here and have created far more chances so far, but Madrid have been clinical - Mbappe taking their only opportunity for his 14th goal for Los Blancos across all competitions.
Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
19:118 mins: Another early chance for Barca as they look to swiftly get back on level terms, with good work from Balde down the left.
He tees up Raphinha for a fierce low drive across the face of goal that flies wide.
GOAL! Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona | Kylian Mbappe 5'
19:06 , George Flood5 mins: Real Madrid lead early against the run of play!
Vinicius Jr wins the ball from Casado and sets away Mbappe, who runs at Martinez before selling a couple of stepovers and firing low past Szczesny.
Barca are furious - they think that was a foul by Vinicius Jr.
But the goal stands after a VAR check. Excellent from Mbappe.
Real Madrid 0-0 Barcelona
19:055 mins: Another big early save from Courtois!
This time he pushes a header from Raphinha away after the Brazilian had lost marker Vazquez to connect with a cross from the right.
Real Madrid 0-0 Barcelona
19:03 , George Flood2 mins: A really bright start from Barca as Yamal’s dangerous low strike deflects off Mendy and has to be pushed around the post by an alert Courtois.
An important early save from the Real Madrid ‘keeper.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona

Who will lift the Spanish Super Cup?
The teams are out at King Abdullah Sports City!
The Spanish Super Cup final will be underway very soon.
Kick-off approaching in Jeddah
18:47 , George Flood15 minutes to go until kick-off at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Kylian Mbappe’s Clasico debut back in October was very disappointing indeed.
Can he make his mark on the famous fixture tonight?
Bellingham, Tchouameni and Valverde shake off issues
18:35 , George FloodReal Madrid have been handed a triple fitness boost tonight with regards to the trio of Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde, all of whom are ready to start despite being forced off in the semi-final win over Real Mallorca.
"The doctor preferred to take him (Tchouameni) off the pitch because it was a blow to the head," Ancelotti said on Thursday.
"Bellingham and Valvede were overloads. We were not expecting the heat and it affected the rhythm of the game.”
Ancelotti expecting another 'unpredictable' Clasico clash
18:16 , George FloodAs ever with El Clasico, Carlo Ancelotti is predicting tonight’s Spanish Super Cup final tie to be entirely unpredictable and hugely entertaining...
"The Clasico has been unpredictable lately," the Italian said.
"There were games we won easily, like the 4-1 last year in the Super Cup.
“We also won 4-0 twice in Barcelona while they beat us 4-0 at the Bernabeu.
"It's hard to think what kind of game the next one will be.
“It will be entertaining because there is quality on the pitch.
“And obviously we want to end up being better than Barcelona."

Real Madrid gunning for third major trophy of the season
17:43 , George FloodIncredibly, victory for Real Madrid tonight would see them claim their third piece of major silverware already this season.
Los Blancos, who won all of the Champions League, LaLiga and the Spanish Super Cup last term, lifted the UEFA Super Cup for a record sixth time in Warsaw back in August after goals from Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappe saw them defeat Europa League winners Atalanta.
Then they travelled to Qatar before Christmas and beat Mexican side Pachuca 3-0 in the final of the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup, with Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr all on target.
That latter triumph - Madrid’s fifth of 2024 - saw Carlo Ancelotti win the 15th major trophy of his two spells in charge, moving him clear of Real legend Miguel Munoz as the most successful coach in the club’s illustrious history.
Can he extend that record tonight?
Real Madrid out to avenge Barcelona thrashing at the Bernabeu
17:25 , George FloodReal Madrid are out for revenge tonight, having been stunned 4-0 by Barcelona at home at the Bernabeu in the first Clasico of the season back in October.
Robert Lewandowski scored twice in three second-half minutes that night, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha also netting on a memorable evening in Hansi Flick’s first taste of one of world football’s biggest derbies.
It ended Madrid’s 42-game unbeaten run in LaLiga and pushed Barca six points clear of their rivals.
However, the tables have turned since with defending champions Madrid - who have won five games in a row across all competitions -now back top and Barca six points behind in third, with Atletico in between after their win over Flick’s men before Christmas.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona prediction
17:07 , George FloodWith Real Madrid in fine form right now, it’s difficult to look past them tonight even despite the Clasico result earlier this season.
Real Madrid to win, 2-1.
Barcelona team news
17:01No team named by Barcelona boss Hansi Flick just yet.
The Blaugrana have had an extra day to recover since their 2-0 semi-final victory over Athletic Club on Wednesday night that saw goals in each half from Gavi and Lamine Yamal.
Barca aren’t believed to have suffered any new injuries this week, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen and Marc Bernal all still sidelined.
Real Madrid unchanged from Mallorca win in semi-finals
16:53 , George FloodReal Madrid are unchanged from their 3-0 win over Real Mallorca in Jeddah on Thursday night, despite the quick turnaround.
Jude Bellingham put Los Blancos ahead in the second half before a late effort from Rodrygo followed a Martin Valjent own goal.
Vinicius Jr is available for selection despite his recent red card against Valencia, with a two-game suspension only applying in LaLiga.
Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are still long-term absentees for Madrid.
David Alaba is on the bench again but won’t play, while Luka Modric is among the substitutes after being ruled out against Mallorca through illness.
