Real Madrid's interest in Bruno Fernandes is reportedly growing with the Spanish outfit said to have 'sent scouts' to watch him in action for Portugal.
Manchester United star Fernandes has been one of the standout performers in the World Cup so far after he played a key role in both of his country's victories as they sailed into the knockout stages with a game to spare. The playmaker set up two goals in the opening win over Ghana before then notching a brace himself against Uruguay, despite Cristiano Ronaldo's best efforts to claim one for himself.
His good displays seemingly haven't gone unnoticed, either, with Real Madrid supposedly keen on Erik ten Hag's star man. Los Blancos were heavily linked with Fernandes before he moved to Old Trafford in January 2020 and now Record, via the Sun, reports that they are considering rekindling their interest.

It's reported that the reigning Spanish and European champions have sent scouts to watch Fernandes in action in Qatar and are mulling over making a move in 2023, in January or the summer. Madrid have made a habit out of signing World Cup stars following the signings of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, James Rodriguez and Thibaut Courtois after the last three editions of the tournament.
Any Fernandes departure seems unlikely after he signed a new contract at United until 2026 in April.
Meanwhile, according to reports from the BBC, the Glazers could agree to the sale by the end of the season. The United owners announced last month that they are 'commencing a process to explore strategic alternatives for the club.'
The BBC claim that there is most likely to be a change of ownership at Old Trafford by spring next year as they look to sell.
