Real Madrid will step up their bid to land Jude Bellingham this week after crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of Manchester City.
Real directors hope to meet with their Borussia Dortmund counterparts to thrash out a deal for around £120million. They are offering the England ace a five-year contract and would ideally like to have everything wrapped up and confirmed to their supporters before June 1.
Real want to make 19-year-old Bellingham their marquee summer signing with a move for Paris Saint-Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappe expected to follow in 2024. Real are also expected to sign left-back Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano this summer.
And the proposed arrivals when the transfer window opens will have a knock-on effect for Real’s squad with former City forward Brahim Diaz, who has spent the season on loan at AC Milan, left-back Ferland Mendy and ex-Chelsea winger Eden Hazard potentially being moved on.
Diaz would like to stay at the Bernabeu but Real need to generate funds and the player would pull in north of £30m.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, is looking at possible options, with Newcastle understood to be one of them.
Mendy’s representatives are also trying to firm up interest in England and will sound out Arsenal, while Hazard accepts his time in Madrid is at an end and will be open to a move once the season ends.
Real would have let him go in January but the Belgian wanted to see out the campaign in Spain for family reasons.
