Real Madrid make N'Golo Kante transfer decision as Chelsea eye deal for Josko Gvardiol teammate

Your morning Chelsea transfer round-up on Sunday, December 11.

Real Madrid snub Kante

According to a report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign N'Golo Kante on a free transfer at the end of the season. However, it's said that Los Blancos have turned down the opportunity.

Kante, who has struggled massively with injury problems over the past couple of seasons, sees his Chelsea contract expire in the summer. As it stands, the Frenchman is expected to leave the club when his deal ends.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Los Blancos, though, are not too keen on taking Kante.

Kante prefers Barca move

The above might not impact Kante too much. That's because according to SPORT, the France international would rather join Barcelona than stay at Stamford Bridge beyond his current contract.

Xavi is said to be a big admirer of Kante. The Barcelona manager has already signed Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea and Kante could join his former teammates in the summer.

There is one condition, though. Barca are said to want assurances that Kante, who is currently sidelined with a long-term injury, is fully fit before he completes a move to the Camp Nou.

Blues want Juranovic

Chelsea are interested in signing Celtic and Croatia defender Josip Juranovic, according to football journalist Simon Phillips. The 27-year-old has been impressive for Croatia in the World Cup so far and that has attracted Chelsea even more.

Juranovic could prove to be an excellent back-up option to Reece James, who has struggled with injury issues over the past two seasons. The Croatian still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Celtic Park.
