Real Madrid squad to face Man City in Champions League semi-final second leg confirmed

Real Madrid have confirmed their 24-man squad to face Manchester City.

Real Madrid travel to Manchester on Wednesday for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final with City. It's a finely-poised tie after the first leg ended even in Madrid with one goal apiece.

Vinicius Jr fired home the opener with a stunning shot but Kevin De Bruyne bettered the effort with his own thunderbolt out of nowhere. It sets up an intriguing tie at the Etihad as both sides look to reach the Istanbul final where they will meet either Inter or AC Milan, if they can stage a remarkable comeback in their own second leg.

Both teams were victorious at the weekend as Los Blancos edged by Getafe 1-0 with Ancelotti able to rest several of his most important players like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Vinicius, Karim Benzema and Rodrygo. He was also able to welcome back three more as Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos started after missing the first leg with injury and Eder Militao returned to the starting XI after being suspended mid-week, all of whom are in the squad.

There was also a worry for Madrid late on when Camavinga, who was instrumental in his side's goal and put in a great display against City, went off with a knee complaint. Ancelotti insisted after the match it was not a problem and the teenager is also on the plane to England.

“He suffered a knock to his knee, but it’s 100 per cent stable," the manager said. "It’s nothing. It was just a knock and he’ll recover well. I think he’ll be able to train with the team on Monday. He should be fine [to play in Manchester]. I think we’ll have the entire squad available for Wednesday.

“I have no doubts about it," he said on his starting XI. "Well, no doubts today. Let’s see if that changes tomorrow.”

On the returning Mendy, Ancelotti added: "He was fine, obviously lacking a bit of rhythm because he hadn’t played. But, he did well having not played for so long. I didn’t want to force it with him.”
