Ancelotti emphasized that the team does not let external speculations affect them, stating, 'The player is not affected in the least.' The reports emerged after Mbappé visited Stockholm during the international break, a period in which he was not called up by the French national team due to a minor injury.
Swedish media reports, without citing sources, suggested that Mbappé was under investigation for an alleged rape incident at a hotel in Stockholm. However, Mbappé's representatives have vehemently refuted these allegations as 'false and irresponsible.' Swedish prosecutors confirmed receiving a report of rape to the police but did not disclose any suspect's identity.
Ancelotti defended Mbappé's right to travel during his time off, highlighting that players have scheduled rest days and autonomy over their activities. The coach shared his own example, saying, 'I went to London for two days and didn't ask anyone for permission.'
Despite sustaining a left thigh injury in late September, Mbappé missed only one game for Real Madrid. He made a comeback as a substitute in a surprising 1-0 defeat to Lille in the Champions League before starting in a 2-0 win against Villarreal in La Liga. Subsequently, he opted out of the international fixtures.
During the break, Mbappé focused on training with Real Madrid to enhance his fitness and recover from the injury. Ancelotti expressed satisfaction with Mbappé's progress, stating, 'He is happy and ready to play and be important for the team. These 15 days have helped because he is now a different player than before the break.'
