Boxer Nicola Adams no longer competes in sport but she wins a gold medal for living her best life in retirement.
The 40-year-old, from Leeds, is best known for her time as a professional boxer and Olympic star. The former Leeds City College student retired in 2019 with an undefeated record and held the WBO female flyweight title in 2019.
The sports star quit boxing after she suffered a torn pupil in a rematch with Salinas, and was concerned if she competed again, she could loose her site. And while she retired young, Nicola has been getting up to a lot of different things, from welcoming a baby, enjoying luxury holidays, spending time with her partner, attending events, and launching campaigns.

Nicola is proud to share her relationship with partner Ella Baig on her social media channels. The pair often post cute snaps together smiling, kissing, and sharing sweet sentiments about one and other. Nicola said of Ella: "I don't know where I'd be without you, my world wouldn't function."
23-year-old Ella describes herself as a "yummy mummy" and is an OnlyFans star and content creator. She has over 30,000 Instagram followers and enjoys pole dancing as a form of exercise.
The couple met in 2018 outside a nightclub, after Nicola overheard Ella admitting to a friend that she didn’t know who she was. At this point, Nicola had won gold in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, and people attending the nightclub were asking her for photographs.
The pair moved in together in 2019 - the same year Nicola retired. In 2020 the couple appeared on Gogglebox together and Nicola competed in Strictly Come Dancing. The activist made history when she danced in the first same sex couple on the show.
In April 2021, Nicola teamed up with her fellow British Olympic stars Greg Rutherford and Kelly Smith, as well as fitness instructor Mr Motivator, to launch 'Energy Fit for the Future'. The campaign by Smart Energy GB, which aimed to encourage people to install smart metres in their homes.
In 2022, Ella announced she was pregnant with their first child. In July last year, the couple welcomed Taylor Adams. The beautiful baby is already living the life of luxury; his parents have taken him to Mexico and The Maldives.
Earlier this year Nicola had to squash rumours that she and Ella got married when they posted pictures from their friends wedding. The couple confused fans after posting a rather formal picture on social media which immediately prompted wedding rumours. In the picture Nicola and Ella look stunning in a suit and beige dress as they pose on the beach.
Nicola wrote underneath one picture: "Perfect Together." And then, under another one, she put: "I have you, you have me." However, they later clarified that the wedding wasn't theirs, the Mirror reports. Nicola said in a video: "So sorry for the confusion but on my last post me and Ella are not married. That was my friend's wedding."
The couple recently enjoyed a trip to The Maldives with their son. They were spotted paddling in the sea, posing for couple pictures, working out on the beach, going for walks, and heading out for dinners together.
The 40-year-old boxer will appear in a brand new show this weekend. While she might be tough in the boxing ring but when it comes to darkness, she explained she doesn't put up the same fight when it comes to darkness. The former Agnes Stewart Church of England High School pupil will be back on our screens in Scared of the Dark this weekend.
The show will air on Saturday, April 16, from 9pm, and there will be five episodes. It is hosted by EastEnders legend Danny Dyer, and star Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt, Chris Eubank, Chris McCausland, Donna Preston, Chloe Burrows, Max George, as well as our very own Nicola.
The show will see celebrities trying to live in complete darkness. The challenge will test the mounting psychological pressures of lack of light, while also encountering their most primal fears in genuinely terrifying and faceless challenges over 180 hours.
Nicola Adams shared her thoughts ahead of the show airing. She said: "I spent eight days in complete darkness, I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face, that's how dark it was. It was the most insane experience of my life and I can't wait for you all to see it."
