Damon Hay hasn't held back since arriving in Weatherfield at the end of last year. The bad boy character, played by Ciaran Griffiths, made his way to Coronation Street to find his son, Jacob Hay, just when his life was on the up and he had dropped his criminal past.
Damon was quick to make out he was there to put things right with Jacob and make up for lost time but Corrie fans soon discovered that wasn't quite the case. He managed to get his claws into a business opportunity at the Bistro, with Leanne Battersby completely unaware that he was Harvey Gaskell's half-brother and had already done a deal with her partner Nick Tilsley.
He later forced his son to work for him at the Bistro, peddling drugs through the business. But when one of the drops went wrong and Jacob begged to be left out of the criminal schemes, he attacked his own son and threatened not only him but his then-girlfriend Amy Barlow, forcing him to flee from the cobbles with those he loved thinking the worst of him.

Since then Damon's drug-dealing scheme has since come to the attention of the police but, with some help from solicitor Adam Barlow, he got out of being prosecuted. But unbeknownst to Adam, Damon has got the hots for his wife, Sarah, and the pair have already shockingly slept together - potentially set to be rumbled in upcoming scenes.
On joining Corrie, fans probably best recognised Rusholme-born actor Ciaran for his starring role in Shameless. He played Mickey Maguire in the Channel 4 series from 2007 to 2012.
His first TV role, however, was in CITV's Children's Ward. He played Jack Connor, while he was attending St Mary's RC High School in Astley near Leigh, for five years from the age of 13. He went on to appear in the film There's Only One Jimmy Grimble and TV shows such as Knight School and City Central.
But some may not remember that Ciaran had an earlier role in Corrie, over two decades ago as a different character. Way back in 2000, he guest-starred in the long-running soap as Dean Sykes in just a few episodes. In the scenes, Dean and his companion, Lenny Larkin, staged an armed raid at Freshco Supermarket.
Dean hoped to raid the safe in the supermarket and escape with thousands of pounds. But, as the siege grew the police surrounded Freshco's before a markswoman fired two shots at Dean, who died on the way to the hospital.
Ciaran also appeared in rival ITV soap Emmerdale in 2001. He was in four episodes of the Yorkshire-based soap as Ben McCarthy before getting small roles in Where the Heart Is, Heartbeat and Clocking Off. His next big role came in 2002 when he starred in ITV police series The Bill as Gary Best until 2005.
Two years later he was in Shameless, then bagging a role in BBC One 's Waterloo Road as Dylan Hodge. This is how he has a connection to his current Corrie love interest, played by Tina O'Brien.
Back in March, Corrie fans recalled how Ciaran and Tina appeared in the school drama together back in 2011 when Tina starred as Rebecca "Bex" Fisher and Ciaran played porn-obsessed Dylan. He forced Bex to live with him for 18 months, made films of her and posted them on a porn website before she eventually went back home. But because Dylan couldn't have Bex he went after her sister Jess Fisher.
Jack James Ryan, who played Jacob, has also revealed that he knew Ciaran before they were made father and son on Corrie. Sharing Corrie's casting announcement of Ciaran on Instagram towards the end of last year, Jack said he was 'beyond excited'.
He went on: "The last time I saw Ciaran was when I was 10 years old visiting my sister on the set of Shameless, so getting to rekindle over this job has been mega. As to be expected he's been unreal on set and I can't wait to see what you guys think."
