Fans of a popular Nottingham buffet restaurant located in the city centre say they are "gutted" after the branch announced it is closing for good. COSMO Authentic World Kitchen, in Milton Street, operated for seven years and served "more than 100 dishes from around the globe to thousands of diners".
The restaurant is one of 21 outlets in the COSMO group, which has recently opened its second branch in Glasgow and has a new presence in Liverpool. However, a spokesman said its Nottingham restaurant, which only reopened following the pandemic a year ago, has been forced to close after the group terminated the operation agreement with the outlet’s operator.
In common with other restaurants across the COSMO group, Nottingham’s branch was run under an agreement with a separate company, Iris Trading Limited. The COSMO spokesperson added that anyone who has booked a table at the restaurant will be contacted by the COSMO marketing department.
Many Nottingham Post readers were saddened to learn of the news, with some sharing their experiences at the restaurant. One mum was planning to take her son for his birthday.
Emily Page said: "Gonna miss that place I only went once and the dinner was exquisite."
John Ware commented: "Noooooooo only went once it was amazing!"
Sophie Munns wrote: "My lads gutted. He was meant to be going for his birthday. I took him a while back and he loved it."
Kevin Dunford said: "Very sad news, had many a good meal there."
"Ah gutted loved the one here. Foods always hot & fresh," Hannah Louise wrote.
Yet, not everybody had a stellar experience at the restaurant.
Kal Kandola said: "The food quality was mediocre and the cleanliness was of concern. Not surprised it closed down."
And Nicole Carney stated: "It was awful I’m sure not many people are going to miss it!!"
