Reacting to the Boston Celtics’ blowout of the San Antonio Spurs on New Year’s Eve

The Boston Celtics defeated the San Antonio Spurs 134-101 on New Year’s Eve as the Celtics’ All-NBA forwards Jaylen Brown (24 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) and Jayson Tatum (25 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and as many blocks) led the way for the Celtics along with point guard Derrick White (17 points, 5 assists) scoring efficiently and playing with pace in transition in combo guard Jrue Holiday’s absence.

The Celtics bench also provided a boost, led by strong performances from reserve big man Luke Kornet (12 points, 4 rebounds), sharpshooter Sam Hauser (11 points, 4 boards) and backup guard Payton Pritchard (9 points, 7 assists) with Boston having six players scoring in double figures.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast reacted to the win over Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs postgame ahead of the arrival of the new year.
