RCD Mallorca vs Real Madrid LIVE: La Liga 2019/20 commentary live stream, TV, latest score, prediction

Welcome to the Evening Standard's La Liga coverage of RCD Mallorca vs Real Madrid LIVE tonight.

Despite a tense summer and a tough start to their Champions League campaign, Zinedine Zidane's sat top of La Liga over the international break.

Barcelona leapfrogged them with a 3-0 win at Eibar earlier today, but Real have a game in hand and can retake top spot with a win tonight.

Los Blancos are currently unbeaten this term, and will look to extend that streak at Mallorca, who were promoted via the playoffs last season.

Real Madrid team news

Gareth Bale and Luka Modric are doubtful for Real Madrid’s trip to Mallorca.

Modric hurt his right leg late in Croatia’s 1-1 draw with Wales on Sunday and had to be helped off the pitch, while Bale finished the match with severe cramp and will also be a fitness concern for Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane.

Neither player is seriously injured, but Modric continued his recovery on Friday and Bale trained indoors as Madrid prepared for their trip to Mallorca and the two look likely to be kept in reserve ahead of Real’s Champions League clash away to Galatasaray on Tuesday.

Nacho is also set to miss out along with long-term absentee Marco Asensio, but Toni Kroos could return on midfield.

The German midfielder, who picked up a groin injury in Madrid’s 4-2 win over Granada prior to the international break, is available again.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is also back after a bout of gastroenteritis saw him miss the Granada game, the Belgian having been substituted at half-time in the 2-2 draw at home to Club Brugge in the Champions League four days earlier.

Ferland Mendy returns from a spell out and is in contention for a starting spot after injury. Lucas Vazquez is doubtful.

Real Madrid predicted lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Casemiro, Valverde, Isco, James; Hazard, Benzema

Prediction: Mallorca 0-2 Real Madrid

Mallorca broke a three-game losing run with a victory over Espanyol before the international break, but Vicente Moreno's men sit 18th having scored just six goals so far.

Real are not the force they once were, but Eden Hazard found his feet before the international break - and with Karim Benzema in great form, Zidane's side should pick up a comfortable win.
