Frank Lampard's Blues outlasted Championship opponents Reading in a seven-goal thriller at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday, a somewhat unconvincing win that followed hot on the heels of their defeat of Barcelona in Saitama, Japan.
They could face another tough test against the reigning Austrian champions, who also topped their Europa League group ahead of Celtic and RB Leipzig last season before being narrowly defeated by Napoli in the round of 16.
After this, Chelsea have one more pre-season fixture to come against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday before opening the new Premier League campaign against Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 11.
