RB Leipzig send ominous Celtic message as Champions League rivals dismantle Bochum

RB Leipzig found their shooting boots ahead of a Champions League showdown with Celtic as they went to town on VFL Bochum.

Ange Postecoglou's side travel to Germany for a mouthwatering group stage clash on Wednesday as they look for a first win in their return to the competition. But they will face a Leipzig side high on confidence after they smashed in four at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Former Chelsea striker Timo Werner and star man Christopher Nkunku both helped themselves to clinical doubles as Marco Rose's side rose to ninth in the German top-flight. Pre-match, Rose had demanded his misfiring forwards start finding they net and they responded to their manager in perfect fashion. Werner set Leipzig on their way with a 15th minute opener before Nkunku made it two from the penalty spot shortly after. Bochum made three half-time changes in a bid to turn the tide but within eight minutes of the restart Leipzig had a third as Werner helped himself to a second.

And Nkunku put the icing on the cake five minutes from time to ensure Leizpig warmed up for a huge clash with Celtic in the most welcome fashion.
