RB Chase Edmonds gets 2-year, $12.6M deal to join Dolphins

The Arizona Cardinals will not have both Chase Edmonds and James Conner at running back in 2022 like head coach Kliff Kingsbury hoped. While the team agreed to terms with Conner on a three-year contract, Edmonds is headed elsewhere.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Edmonds is heading to the Miami Dolphins on a two-year deal with $12.6 million. He gets $6.1 million in guarantees.

Edmonds spend four season with the Cardinals after being drafted in the fourth round out of Fordham in 2018. He has been a favorite of his coaches since the beginning and was a starter last season.

As a starter in 2021, he was limited to 12 games because of injuries. He had a career high in rushing with 592 yards and two scores, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt.

He also caught 43 passes for 311 yards. He had a career-high 903 total yards from scrimmage.

He is a capable runner and is also a dynamic pass catcher.

He will be missed and the Dolphins get a good player. In his absence, Eno Benjamin will have the opportunity to take over a complementary role.
