RB Bijan Robinson Explains Why He’s Worthy of Early Draft Pick

Texas running back Bijan Robinson is widely regarded as the top running back prospect heading into April’s NFL draft.

Robinson’s ability as a runner coupled with his versatility out of the backfield make him an intriguing prospect who’s worthy of consideration with an early pick, regardless of how NFL teams feel about selecting running backs in the first round.

Robinson pitched his versatility at the NFL combine on Saturday.

“First of all, I feel like if you’re a guy who can do all three for your offense, I think that’s a very special quality for a player,” Robinson said. “You line a player up at receiver, at slot or obviously at running back. Just creating mismatches all over the field and being able to create space for yourself … That’s a high value everybody should look at.”

When asked specifically if the league’s view on running backs was “unfair”, Robinson wouldn’t go that far.

“I don’t want to say it’s unfair. You just never know on that day where you’re going to go. For me, it’s important to keep enjoying the moment. We might get to draft day and some surprise could happen. You just never know.”

Robinson leaves Texas after three seasons as the latest in a long line of excellent running backs to come from the school. Robinson accounted for 4,215 total yards from scrimmage over his career and 41 total touchdowns.
