Ray Liotta shared details about upcoming project days before tragic death

Ray Liotta teased fans with details about a future film project days before his tragic death.

We told how the Hollywood actor died aged 67 on Thursday.

Famed the world over for his role in Goodfellas, Ray reportedly passed away in his sleep while working on a film in the Dominican Republic.

Three days before his death Ray shared some exciting information about the upcoming flick, Cocaine Bear, on social media.

The movie is about a 500lb bear that takes cocaine before going on a rampage, threatening the safety of a local town and its inhabitants, the Mirror reports.

Ray took to Instagram sharing a screenshot of a headline about the project which read, ' Elizabeth Banks' 'Cocaine Bear' Sets February 2023 Theatrical Release'.

He was set to star in the film and shared a short synopsis with fans, writing: “Cocaine Bear follows an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of the white powder and goes on a coke-fuelled rampage seeking more blow — and blood.”

His fans appeared excited in the comments, sending congratulatory messages to the Goodfellas star.

"This movie sounds wild!" one fan wrote as another commented: "Great cast! congratulations!!"

A third added: "A must see it seems one of my favourite actors Ray Liotta."

The famed actor’s career breakout came in the 1990 Martin Scorsese crime classic Goodfellas after co-starring in Field of Dreams.

He was shooting the film Dangerous Waters at the time of his death, having seen a career resurgence in recent years.

He recently starred in films including The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story — for which he shared a 2020 Indie Spirit Award as part of its ensemble — and No Sudden Move.

He finished the Elizabeth Banks-directed Cocaine Bear and was due to star in the Working Title film The Substance opposite Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.

Liotta leaves behind a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to be married to Jacy Nittolo.

Deadline claimed the star died in his sleep but did not give the cause of death, while TMZ has claimed there was no foul play suspected.

Liotta was last pictured in public at the beginning of May in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, California.

The iconic actor was born in New Jersey in 1954 and was abandoned at an orphanage.

He was adopted when he was six months old by township clerk Mary and auto-parts store owner Alfred Liotta.

He has a sister, Linda, who is also adopted. Ray later learned he has one biological sister, one biological half-brother, and five biological half-sisters.

One of Ray's earliest roles was as Joey Perrini on the soap series Another World, where he appeared between 1978 to 1981.

Ray made his film debut in 1983's The Lonely Lady but his first major acting role was Something Wild in 1986, which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination.

It was in 1990 that Ray took on the role of real-life mobster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese's critically acclaimed movie Goodfellas.
