Ravens TE Mark Andrews shares how he’ll embrace mentor role for rookie TEs

The Baltimore Ravens added two tight ends in the 2022 NFL draft, selecting both Iowa State’s Charlie Kolar and Costal Carolina’s Isaiah Likely in the fourth round. They’ll be joining a positional group in Baltimore that already has two very established options in Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle, making the team’s tight end room one of the best in football.

When Andrews was asked about how it felt to hear Kolar say that he watched him growing up and if he was embracing a mentorship role, the veteran made it clear that he’s going to everything he can to help the two rookies thrive at the NFL level.

“It’s humbling. For me, when I came out of the league, there’s certain guys that I really looked at and looked up to. So, for me, to kind of be that type of guy [and] role model, I’m going to everything I can to help both of these young guys – every one of these tight ends – in any way I can, share my knowledge, share what I can do. We have a great room, like I said. It’s going to be scary. We’ve got a lot of tight ends that can play some ball.”

For any young player, gaining knowledge from a player of Andrew’s caliber will help immensely. Both Kolar and Likely have massive amounts of potential, and they’ll have Andrews in their corner as the look to establish themselves as professionals.
