Ravens TE Mark Andrews on balancing training while rehabbing: ‘It’s a delicate balance’

The Baltimore Ravens have seen tight end Mark Andrews flourish into one of the best players at his position in the NFL. He has improved almost every aspect, and is now an extremely well-rounded player that contributes in multiple facets of the game.

Andrews suffered a serious ankle injury in the middle of the Ravens’ 2023 season against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was able to return for Baltimore’s 2023 AFC Championship loss, and spoke to the media about the balance of training while rehabbing, calling it a delicate process.

“I think it’s a delicate balance, and I think that’s one of those things when your body knows, it knows. There was a point in this offseason, where I was … It’s like, you go to bed one day, and you wake up the next day, and you start going, and you’re working on your strength, you start working on the football stuff instead of the rehab stuff. And thankfully, pretty early on in my training sessions in the offseason, that happened.”

Andrews and quarterback Lamar Jackson have established incredible chemistry together, which has been used to dominate defenses over and over again. A healthy Andrews improves the Baltimore offense drastically, and he should be able to work in tandem with fellow tight end Isaiah Likely this year.
