Ravens S Marcus Williams ‘happy to be back’ after long-term injury

The Baltimore Ravens lost safety Marcus Williams in Week 5 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals to a dislocated wrist injury.  At that time, Williams had a team-lead of three interceptions and was looking like a steal of the 2022 offseason despite earning a massive five-year, $70 million deal.

Williams returned to the lineup in Week 14 at Pittsburgh and began right where he left off before his injury with a crucial second half interception. Williams spoke to the media and was asked if there were any difficulties of working back from his wrist injury, to which he said he’s happy to be back on the field.

“I wouldn’t say it’s difficult; it’s just a one-day-at-a-time process. Everybody goes through something, and I just had to go through that. You see me back out there, and it doesn’t look like I lost a beat. But I’m happy to be back, and I’m just enjoying being back and getting ready for the next game.”

Having a player like Williams back in the lineup is huge for the Baltimore defense.  Teams will now have to worry his ability as a ball hawk, so they could be much more conservative knowing that at any moment, a turnover could change the momentum of the game.
