Ravens’ Ronnie Stanley looking forward to blocking for RB Derrick Henry

The Baltimore Ravens made a splash on the second day of 2024 NFL free agency, signing running back Derrick Henry to a two-year, $16 million deal. The hope is that he can continue his incredible production, which has been a staple of the first eight years of his NFL career, and help take pressure off of quarterback Lamar Jackson.

When asked about what it would be like to block for Henry, Baltimore offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley shared his excitement. He mentioned how he expects things with Henry to be very physical, smashmouth football, making it clear that he’s looking forward to paving the way for the former Tennessee Titans star.

“I think it’s gonna be very physical football, smashmouth football. He’s also an elusive player, and I just look forward to blocking for him and learning more about the type of things he sees during a run so I can make the runs as good of a play for him as possible.”

Henry will add multiple extra elements to the Ravens’ offense just by being present, not to mention his actual production. In order for his full potential to be reached, he has to have open pathways to run through, something that Stanley and the rest of Baltimore’s offensive line can hopefully provide.
