The Baltimore Ravens will head across the country for their second 2022 preseason game, playing the Arizona Cardinals. The preseason is a time for young players to be able to prove themselves, and while starters can play at times, some teams opt to rest them instead.
Following training camp practice on Wednesday, head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media. Harbaugh announced during the press conference that quarterback Lamar Jackson as well as some other starters won’t play in the team’s Week 2 preseason game in Arizona

It remains to be seen if Jackson will play at all in the preseason this year. On Saturday, Jackson told reporters that he wasn’t sure if he would play a game this preseason, but added that he “may give it a shot.”
It wouldn’t be surprising for Jackson to not take a snap before Week 1, as the former league-MVP is coming off a bone bruise that ended his season last year. Jackson gives the Ravens the best chance to win, and risking injury in a preseason is something that the team might want to avoid altogether, even if it means the quarterback doesn’t get any game snaps until the regular season begins.
