The Baltimore Ravens have one of the most electrifying talents in the NFL in quarterback Lamar Jackson. His ability both as a passer and a runner is incredible, making it extremely hard for opposing defenses to contain him, let alone stop him.
When assessing the top 25 players who are 25 and under, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports put Jackson very high up on his list, with the former unanimous league-MVP coming in at No. 2 overall. Benjamin said that any team would love to have Jackson’s electricity in their lineup, something that is extremely unique towards the former Louisville star.
“If you prefer Burrow here (or higher), we’re not gonna fight you over it. Jackson certainly still has to prove himself as a consistent/big-game passer, especially if his future is tied to a run-heavy system in Baltimore or elsewhere. But there’s just no way most teams wouldn’t love to inject his pure, MVP-level electricity into their lineup. With an underrated arm and lightning-fast speed, he can never be counted out, so long as he’s healthy.”
The fifth-year quarterback had a rough end to his 2021 season, but at the beginning of the year was in the conversation for yet another MVP, especially after his spectacular Week 5 performance against the Indianapolis Colts. He is the heart and soul of the Baltimore offense, and he is more than deserving of such a high place on a list of the best young talents in the NFL.
Jackson was only behind Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in the rankings, who came in at No. 1 overall.
