The Baltimore Ravens have seen a few contributors step up for them at the wide receiver position over the course of the 2022 season. Second-year wideout Rashod Bateman and third-year pass catcher Devin Duvernay have each shown flashes, but with Bateman currently out with a foot injury, the team’s depth at the position has become rather thin.
When listing out logical landing spots for Carolina Panthers star wide receiver DJ Moore, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports named Baltimore as his top landing spot. When explaining why, Benjamin mentioned that it’s about time that the Ravens invested in a star No. 1 wide receiver for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“Lamar Jackson can save games with his legs, but it’s about time Baltimore invests in a true No. 1 receiver — at least since granting Marquise Brown’s offseason wish to head elsewhere. Both Devin Duvernay and Rashod Bateman have flashed this year, but Moore would give Jackson a fully realized version of his current targets, not only now but for years to come. The more talent out wide, the less pressure for Baltimore’s run game to dominate. As a bonus, Moore is very familiar to the area, playing his college ball at Maryland after being born and raised in Philadelphia.”
Moore was a first-round selection of Carolina in the 2018 draft, and has impressed in the first few years of his NFL career. He’s caught 318 passes for 4,510 yards and 15 touchdowns in just over four seasons, and would slot in nicely next to fellow wideouts Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay, not to mention tight end Mark Andrews.
