NFL fans truly thought the world was ending on Sunday when Ravens kicker Justin Tucker missed a 59-yard field goal attempt vs. the Bengals in the first half.
For any other NFL kicker, it would be understandable to miss this long field goal attempt. However, Tucker is known for hardly ever missing, so any miss is a shock to fans.
A 59-yard field goal is nothing out of the ordinary for Tucker. His career best was a 66-yard attempt in the 2021 season. Last year, his season high was 58 yards, and he went 37–of–43 for all field goal attempts. His 37 made field goals put him on top of the NFL in 2022.
Tucker went 9–14 for field goals longer than 50 yards last season, so the kicker definitely misses on occasion. The attempt on Sunday seemed possible for Tucker, though, which is why many fans were surprised to see the ball miss to the right.
