The state of the running back position in the NFL is at an all-time low. Quality players are losing out on millions of dollars and jobs due to the fact that the league-wide “shelf life” of the position keeps decreasing in age, leading to holdouts, unhappiness, and unsatisfied players.
Following the franchise tag extension deadline that saw both New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs not agree to terms with their teams, multiple NFL running backs took to Twitter to express their displeasure. Baltimore Ravens running back joined in by retweeting the messages on his own account.
