The Baltimore Ravens have 10 selections in the 2022 draft, including nine in the first four rounds. There are many different ways that each pick could turn out for the team, but one Baltimore player gave a glowing endorsement of a star prospect in the class.
On Wednesday, Patrick Queen spoke to the media and gave insight into multiple different aspects of his offseason. When he was asked about his former college teammate in cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., Queen put forth a glowing endorsement for him, saying that he’ll be “so happy” if Stingley falls to the Ravens at No. 14.
“Derek [Stingley Jr.] was different the day he came in. He came in early, while we were practicing for the Bowl Game my sophomore year, and he came in and practiced, and he was going up against Ja’Marr [Chase] and those guys, and he was balling then. So, when he got there freshman year, truly, you could see it. Every day at practice he was going up against Ja’Marr and ‘J.J.’ [Justin Jefferson], just locking them down. So, I probably knew he was like that [since] the Auburn pick, where he like turned his head three different times and found the ball; best play I’ve ever seen in my life. So, if he falls to us, I’ll be so happy.”
Queen and Stingley played for LSU during the college’s historic 2019 championship run, where they both patrolled on the Tigers’ defense. Queen was then selected by the Ravens at No. 28 overall, and if Stingley ends up in Baltimore, he will be the second LSU player on Baltimore’s current roster, joining Queen.
