The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game after defeating the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round. There is plenty to be excited about in Baltimore, as it seems that the team is peaking at the right time in the midst of a potential Super Bowl run.
“I think we just did a better job getting the ball out on time. I think [offensive coordinator] Todd [Monken] called a different game. It wasn’t so much hold the ball and try to push the ball downfield, which Lamar [Jackson] did a good job. Once Lamar was able to sit back there [in the pocket] and just pick [the defense] apart and get the ball out quick, he just did a great job with that and then took control of the game.”
After Baltimore’s win over Houston, head coach John Harbaugh explained the adjustments that his team had to the Texans’ blitz in the Divisional Round. He talked about how once quarterback Lamar Jackson was able to sit back in the pocket, he did a great job getting the ball out quickly when needed and controlling the game.
