Ravens HC John Harbaugh doesn’t take magic of QB Lamar Jackson for granted

The Baltimore Ravens beat the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night by the final score of 27-13.  The Ravens were missing some key offensive weapons, but still managed to have a dominant offensive performance. While they leaned on the ground game, quarterback Lamar Jackson contributed both with his arm and with his legs.

Following the contest, head coach John Harbaugh was asked if he takes it for granted to see Jackson make players miss trying to tackle him. He said he doesn’t take it for granted, saying that Jackson left him saying “Wow” a few times.

“No, I do not take it for granted. I was shaking my head, I think I said, ‘Wow’ a couple of times. I couldn’t see how he got out of the one late on the other side of the field there. How did he get out of that one? I thought Lamar [Jackson] played… Lamar plays on a different level. You can’t just look at passing stats; the passing stats are good, but he made some plays, he made some third-down conversions. Third down was key in this game; we did a great job on offense, and Lamar was really the driver of that. Then, on defense, our defense stepped up and played well on third down, too.”

The Ravens are now 6-3 on the season and head into their bye week.  The team has a real opportunity to get healthy and make a dominant run heading into the playoffs.  Getting back key members of the offense and defense will help the team down the stretch, with Jackson leading the way with his phenomenal play.
