Ravens HC John Harbaugh discusses approach for OT Ronnie Stanley

The Baltimore Ravens went through a massive amount of injuries during the 2021 season. They lost running back J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards as well as cornerback Marcus Peters before the year started, only saw offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley play in one game, and lost other key starters throughout the season such as cornerback Marlon Humphrey and quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Stanley returned to the practice field this week, and head coach John Harbaugh was asked about what the plan for Stanley was moving forward. He said it’s all about how the offensive tackle is moving and feeling, and said it’s the same situation with both Dobbins and Peters.

“It just depends on how he’s doing. A lot of it has to do with how he’s feeling and if he’s ready to go. If he feels strong, if he’s moving and feels like he can be successful, and if we see what we need to see. Same thing with J.K. [Dobbins], Marcus [Peters] or any of those guys.”

The Ravens will be cautious with Stanley, who has only played in seven games in the last two seasons due to injury. When healthy, Stanley is one of the best at his position and gives Baltimore plenty of protection for the offense to work with. He makes the team better, and is one of their most important players on the offensive side of the ball.
