The Baltimore Ravens enter 2022 free agency with multiple different needs to address. The NFL as a whole has many talented teams in it, and Baltimore will need to keep up with them if they want to give themselves the best chance to win a Super Bowl championship.
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports put together a “free agency mock draft“, which entails each team drafting a free agent based off of the 2022 draft order. With the No. 14 overall pick, the Ravens secured a talented defensive lineman in Emmanuel Ogbah, who has spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Benjamin talked about how Ogbah offers more upside than veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell.
“Calais Campbell could easily warrant another short-term deal here, but Ogbah offers longer-term upside and some emerging pass-rushing juice for a defensive front that’s lacked steady pressure.”
Ogbah is a very talented player who has had steady production over the course of his NFL career. He had nine sacks in each of the last two seasons, and has brought the quarterback down 36 times in his six-year career. He has a bit of positional versatility as well, but would provide the Ravens with a very solid interior pass rush presence who is 28 years old.
