Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Michael Pierce has played a big part in the success of the team’s defense so far in 2023. While his stats might not show it, he’s been a game-wrecker in many different ways that don’t show up on the box score.
Pierce had arguably one of the best games of his career in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals, doing a little bit of everything on the field. He was asked if it was a relief to finally bring the quarterback down for a sack, which he said it was, especially after getting to the quarterback but not getting him down.
“Big, big relief. You always want to do your part. Like you said, I’ve been getting to the quarterback, I just haven’t been getting him down. I happened to get a fine for tackling him and not getting him down. It’s been an interesting year, but our defense has been doing great. We let a lot of stuff slide today, but it’s good to be on the board and hopefully a lot more to come.”
