The Baltimore Ravens got a monster performance out of veteran defensive tackle Michael Pierce on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. He was everywhere on the field, from contributing sacks, tackles for loss, pass deflections and more.
After the game, Pierce was asked about being “in the zone” against Arizona. He said that for nose guards it might look a little different, but said it was a good day for him even if it wasn’t as eye-popping as other skill position players on the field.
“Yes, for a nose guard, it may look a little different.” (laughter) “Today, it was a good day for me, obviously. But, you can definitely be ‘in the zone.’ Like I said, it can be a lot less eye-popping or highlight-worthy plays, but definitely. You definitely can.”
