The Baltimore Ravens suffered multiple injuries in their secondary during the 2021 season. The team lost cornerback Marcus Peters before the year began, and then saw safety DeShon Elliott and cornerback Marlon Humphrey in the middle of the season.
Humphrey is back after tearing his pectoral muscle in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and when asked about how Peters looks in his return from his torn ACL. The cornerback said that he’s excited to get Peters back in the fold, and that he’s been looking good from the first day that he did individual drills.

“Yes, I’m really excited to get Marcus [Peters] back. He’s been looking good. He’s actually been looking good from the first day he first did individual. So, he actually kind of surprised me. Even the other day he was like, ‘If I look bad, tell me.’ I was like, ‘Bro, I would.’ (laughter)So, he looks really good. I’m really excited to be back out there with him, [and] I think we’ll have a really good corner duo with him and of course [Kyle] Fuller.”
The absence of Peters was felt in a big way throughout the year, as the team was tied for 29th in turnovers during the 2021 season. The secondary as a whole ranked in the bottom-five in many different categories last year, and missed the abilities of Peters. It’s unclear if the veteran will suit up for Week 1 against the New York Jets, but he looks to be getting closer and closer to returning, which is a very positive sign.
