The Baltimore Ravens currently have 10 picks in the 2022 NFL draft, including nine in the top-four rounds. It is a prime opportunity for the team to improve their roster on both sides of the ball and keep up with the rest of the NFL.
In a two-round mock draft by Austin Gayle of Pro Football Focus, Baltimore focused on the defensive side of the ball and came away with two very prospects. At pick No. 14, Gayle has the Ravens selecting cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner out of the University of Cincinnati. When explaining his choice, Gayle talked about how dominant the star was in college.
“A physical, uber-talented cover corner, Cincinnati’s Ahmad Gardner had one of the most impressive seasons we’ve ever seen for a college cornerback. He played 448 coverage snaps and allowed receptions on just 17-of-36 targets for 117 yards and zero touchdowns.”
At pick No. 46, Gayle selected USC edge rusher Drake Jackson for Baltimore. Jackson is a good athlete who is solid in many different areas, but also is just scratching the surface of his potential. Both players would add to a very solid Ravens defensive unit, and could contribute right away while also having plenty of room to grow for the future.
