Ravens announce 25 transactions, officially get initial roster to 53 players for 2022

The Baltimore Ravens had plenty of tough decisions to make over the last few weeks as they gradually trimmed their roster to 53 players. The deadline to do so was Tuesday at 4pm EST, and Baltimore announced 25 transactions to get to the required number.

There were many expected moves by the team, with a few what could be classified as shocking decisions thrown in as well. The team decided to move on from multiple young talents, as well as keep five tight ends, five inside linebackers, five tight ends, and just two healthy outside linebackers on their initial 2022 roster.

Some of the surprises on the list include the team moving on from one of their 2022 draft picks in running back Tyler Badie, as well as the release of talented defensive back Ar’Darius Washington. Tight end Josh Oliver makes the team as the No. 5 tight end with the expectation that Charlie Kolar will go on injured reserve, while both inside linebackers Josh Ross and Kristian Welch made the team.

The team could look to bring back some of the vested veterans they released such as defensive lineman Brent Urban, outside linebacker Steven Means, and safety Tony Jefferson II. Baltimore also waived/injured second-year outside linebacker Daelin Hayes, as well as promising defensive tackle Isaiah Mack.
