Rate the players as Liverpool suffer Champions League blow after Chelsea draw

Liveroool's hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League suffered a huge blow as they were held to a draw by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Jurgen Klopp rang the changes for the Reds, with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson all dropping to the bench for the clash in West London. Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk didn't travel to the capital as he succumbed to a bout of illness on Monday afternoon.

Led by interim manager Bruno Saltor, Chelsea had two goals disallowed after VAR checks with Reece James' thumping first half-volley chalked off for an offside infringement by Enzo Fernandez. While Kai Havertz saw his goal ruled out for the use of a hand directly before the ball trickled into the back of the net.

Klopp called upon Salah and Cody Gakpo late in the second half in search of a late winner, but neither attacker was able to execute the ultimate smash-and-grab for the Reds.

The result leaves Liverpool sitting seven points off the Champions League places ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday at Anfield. Have your say on the Reds' performance here using our Rate the Players tool.
