Rate the Liverpool players in 2-0 win over Newcastle United

Liverpool claimed a hard-fought win over Newcastle United in their Premier League clash on Saturday evening.

The Reds claimed a 2-0 victory at St James’ Park thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo. The result sees Liverpool move up to eighth place in the table and are now six points adrift of the top four places, with a game in hand.

Nunez opened the scoring for Liverpool early on in the first half, after latching onto a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross. Gakpo then put Liverpool 2-0 in front thanks to a lofted pass from Mohamed Salah.

Newcastle were then restricted to 10 men, after Nick Pope was sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area. Alisson Becker had sent Salah away for a counter-attack, only for Pope to stop the break and then be given his marching orders.
