Liverpool suffered a nightmare return to Premier League action this afternoon after suffering a 4-1 defeat against Manchester City.
The Reds took the lead in the 17th minute through Mohamed Salah, though were pegged back ten minutes later when Julian Alvarez levelled for the home side. City then came quick out the blocks, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan firing Pep Guardiola's side into a 3-1 lead eight minutes after the restart.
Things got worse for the visitors with 16 minutes to play as Jack Grealish added a fourth for the Sky Blues, ensuring there was no way back for Liverpool during the game.
