Liverpool took on Everton in the first Merseyside derby of the season this afternoon at Goodison Park - and it ended 0-0.
After a bright start from the Reds, the opening period was feisty but offered little in the way of serious chances - until the moments just before the break when Darwin Nunez hit the bar and Luis Diaz hit the post.
Roberto Firmino was introduced at half-time, replacing Fabio Carvalho who took a knock and was seen limping towards the end of the first half.
Further changes followed, but the Reds largely struggled for rhythm despite the introduction of both Andy Robertson and James Milner just before the hour mark.
Joel Matip and Diogo Jota both came on with 10 minutes of normal time left. Alisson and Jordan Pickford pulled off some superb second-half saves, but the final score was 0-0.
Next up for Liverpool is Napoli away on Wednesday night, as their Champions League group stage campaign kicks off.
