Everton and Liverpool shared the spoils as a hard-fought Merseyside derby ended 0-0 at Goodison Park.
The Toffees grew into the game in the first-half, utilising the fervent home crowd to hound down Liverpool's possession play. But chances came and went, Tom Davies coming closest when his stabbed effort hit the post.
Liverpool had their own chances, however, with Darwin Nunez forcing a fine save from Jordan Pickford before Luis Diaz smashed a shot onto the post. But for all the chances, the teams went into the break goalless.
Conor Coady looked to have given Everton the lead after a frantic second-half period in which both goalkeepers made outstanding saves, but a VAR check showed the defender to be just offside.
And despite an end-to-end finish to the game, neither side were able to find the net again with spoils shared - thanks mainly to Pickford, whose last-gasp tip onto the post saved Everton a point.
