He also tried a cheese and onion toastie, and a pesto chicken sandwich. The YouTube star also tasted one of the cathedral's coffees.

All together his meal came to £15.75, but he rounded it up to £20 with the extra money going towards a Ukraine fund.

While Danny was excited to try the food, he was nervous when he set up his famous table and chair outside and noticed the stones laid on the ground were engraved with notes to lost loved ones.

He said: "Oooo they're not buried here are they? They mustn't be as they are parking cars here and you can't park cars on top of people.

"I don't know if I feel a bit rude doing this. There's no people here they must just be stones in memory of them."

Danny added that the cafe looks like somewhere the older generation enjoy to keep warm and have a chat.

While he was outside, the Yorkshire food reviewer got recognised by a number of fans.

Digging into his coffee he said: "I don't mind a bit of filter coffee you know - it has a nice kick to it."

While he was sipping on his drink to keep warm the 900-year-old cathedral bells were playing in the background.

Next he dug into his chicken pesto sandwich but was disappointed when it didn't come on white bread.

Danny said: "It's like a little posh sarnie isn't it. Straight away you get the kick of that pesto and that red onion is giving it the sweetness.

"That's nice. It's got a freshness to it, a really nice soft bun - absolutely gorgeous.

Danny said the quince was "beautiful" and the pastry was "buttery"

He tried the wedges which he said had a "nice crisp skin", and inside were "soft and fluffy".

And the staff at Cathedral Kitchen gave him a "surprise" to finish off his review.
